Guide
Control padel rackets, ranked by the control rating
Players who want placement over power usually ask for a control racket. These lists rank the index by the control rating, which the model calculates from published shape, balance, weight, core and face. The rule for each list is printed above it.
Updated 6 October 2026. Rebuilt from the index every time a spec or a price changes.
Most control at any price
How this list is chosen. Every racket with at least 4 of 5 inputs published, sorted by control rating. Nothing is hand-picked, and the rule is applied to every racket in the index on each build.

How the control rating is calculated
The control rating comes from the maker's published shape, balance, weight, core and face, through the formula on the methodology page, with the sources for each direction. It describes what a racket is built for. It is not a play test, and a commission never changes it.
This guide exists because players keep asking: thread 1, thread 2, thread 3.
Questions
What makes a padel racket a control racket?
In our model, the control rating rises with a round shape and a lower balance, among other published inputs. The methodology page lists every input and its source.
Is a control racket good for beginners?
Often, because control builds overlap with forgiving ones, but not always. Compare the forgiveness rating as well, or see the beginner guide.
