Padel racket balance explained: low, medium, high

Balance describes where the racket’s mass is centred along its length. Read it alongside weight and construction when comparing how different models may handle.

Updated 19 October 2026. Counted from the 213 rackets in the index that publish a balance.

How to read this. The averages are our model's ratings for the rackets of each balance, and balance is itself an input of those ratings (power (35% of that rating, more raises it); control (40% of that rating, more lowers it); handling (50% of that rating, more lowers it); comfort (20% of that rating, more lowers it)). They show how the model reads balance, not a measurement. Brands measure the balance point differently, so a bare millimetre figure is shown on racket pages but not compared or scored. Only the low, medium or high label a maker publishes is used.

Low

The maker labels the mass as sitting toward the handle. Compare it with the weight before judging how quickly it moves. The index holds 44; most from Bullpadel 10, Siux 10, StarVie 5.

Shown: the 3 low rackets with a listed shop offer rated highest for handling; on a tie, a racket with a photo first, then the cheaper. Check delivery to your country on the racket page.

Medium

The maker labels the mass as centred. Read it alongside weight and construction. The index holds 85; most from Siux 13, Bullpadel 11, Adidas 9.

Shown: the 3 medium rackets with a listed shop offer rated highest for control; on a tie, a racket with a photo first, then the cheaper. Check delivery to your country on the racket page.

High

The maker labels the mass as sitting toward the head. Try the handling of the exact model where you can. The index holds 84; most from Adidas 17, Bullpadel 17, Head 10.

Shown: the 3 high rackets with a listed shop offer rated highest for power; on a tie, a racket with a photo first, then the cheaper. Check delivery to your country on the racket page.

Questions

Which padel racket balance is best for beginners?

Start with models you can handle comfortably and compare their published weight, balance and construction. Shape is one input to our comparison, not a guarantee that a racket suits a beginner.

How does PadelTrue use balance in its ratings?

It is one input of power (35% of that rating, more raises it), control (40% of that rating, more lowers it), handling (50% of that rating, more lowers it), comfort (20% of that rating, more lowers it). PadelTrue uses this specification as an input to its published rating formula. The numerical weights are modelling choices, not measured performance or a consensus ranking. See our methodology for the formula and its limitations.

Are these averages measured?

No. They are how our model reads balance, because balance is an input of those ratings. They describe the published builds in the index, not lab tests or play tests.

How this site makes money, and how it does not. PadelTrue may earn a commission when you buy through a retailer link on this site. A commission never changes a rating. Every rating comes from the manufacturer's published specification through the formula printed on the methodology page, and every specification links to where it was published. Found a wrong figure?
