Which padel racket not to buy

1. A newer model bought without checking the changes

A higher model year is not a buying reason on its own. Compare the exact versions, including changes outside the fields in our rating model.

Prices as last checked, both from the maker's own store. The 2026 prices are reduced from their list price. This table compares selected spec fields, not every technology or construction detail. Matching fields do not prove identical rackets. Follow each model to see its sources.

For example, Nox describes a new VCS handle system and revised aerodynamics for its Genius 18K Alum 2027. Those features are not captured by this table. We have not independently tested their effect.

2. A pro racket, if you are new to padel

The rackets that fill social media are built for professionals. Diamond shape, high balance, firm feel. They rate lowest for forgiveness in the whole index.

3. The firmest builds, if your arm already hurts

Firm feel, carbon face, high balance and more weight all ask more of the arm.

4. A racket chosen for its carbon number

18K is not better than 12K, and 12K is not better than 3K. The number counts the filaments in a carbon bundle. Makers give different accounts of what it does, and the engineering evidence says it has little direct effect. Skip any racket whose main selling point is a higher K. 5. A racket that is too cheap to be real

Popular models are copied. One player posted a white "Nox AT10 18K" with the player's name misspelled on the frame and no rough finish on the face. Asked here: thread 1, thread 2.
